London, December 2024 – The world’s leading podcast about women in film, Girls On Film, is delighted to announce its fourth annual Girls On Film Awards, set to take place on Sunday 26 January 2025 at the Curzon Bloomsbury in London. This year, two new categories have been added: for Best Performance in a Leading Role and in a Supporting Role.
Celebrating excellence in diversity, inclusion, and the representation of women and marginalised genders in front and behind the camera, this year’s Girls On Film Awards ceremony is scheduled to occur during the major awards voting window, ensuring a spotlight on groundbreaking work in the industry.
The event will feature top-tier industry professionals, A-list talent and press, and is supported by generous sponsorship from Gold Sponsors CrewHQ and IMDb, Silver Sponsor Curzon and Bronze Sponsors Netflix and Intimacy on Set. Media partners this year will be Deadline, British Cinematographer magazine and DDA. More sponsors to be announced soon.
Nominations will be unveiled on 8 January 2025. The eligibility period for consideration runs from 17 February 2024 to 14 February 2025. Nominees are selected by leading film critics in the UK, the majority of whom are women, with voting beginning today and running until 17 December.
